First week of BALI’s summer program came to an end as the BALI girls got creative in their learning experiences.

Liz, BALI founder, educated the girls about the appliance of the Equal Rights Amendment for women.

BALI’s program associate, Oriela, led the next workshop about creating personal statements, not only for college essays, but also for the future. Personal statements are necessary when applying for internships and jobs, too.

Since it was a Saturday, as a replacement for debating, the BALI staff invited the Manhattan Samba.

As the members of the Manhattan Samba beat their drums, the girls enjoyed their time by dancing.

“I think the Manhattan Samba was a really great way to get the girls united as a group and feel empowered. We definitely had more of a sisterhood,” trainee Kiran Budhiraja said.
