Stricter gun control laws have been an ongoing battle, and President Obama has made  many attempts towards making it so that guns are safer for everyone.

President Obama is known to always give a promise of stricter gun control laws after every mass shooting, but on January 5, after shedding tears at the reminiscence of the Sandy Hook shooting in 2012, Obama vows stricter gun control laws, once again.

While admitting that the nation cannot control every act of violence, President Obama believes that if the people prevent one evil act at a time, it will prevail. He is enforcing that gun sellers have better background checks, as they will be better investigated. Another advancement the president would like to do is pursue the act of safer gun technology. He compares the precision and safekeeping to having the right fingerprint to unlock a phone; he wants it to have the same kind of lock protection. The last act that he is taking to better gun control, is to invest $500,000,000 to ensure that people with mental illness get the help that they need.

“I think he’s finally doing something right. If the laws are passed, the fatalities will decrease because they will be overseen as a government act,” a conservative voter Georgia Brogna said.

There has been speculation that many people believe President Obama is violating the Second Amendment and constantly putting restrictions on law-abiding citizens. President Obama makes the argument that the rights of the victims of Sandy Hook, and many others in education have had their rights stripped as well, with implication that it is from the freedom of bearing arms.
