Super Teens: Chronicle Movie Review by Shannon Doran, entertainment editor
Telekinesis. The power superheros have claimed to have that makes them able to move a variety of things with their minds. Viewers minds are sure to be blown when they see Chronicle in theaters. According to imdb.com, it was rated a 7.6 out of 10.
“This movie was really good. Not the best I’ve seen, but the telekinesis powers were cool to watch; up until the end at least. The action scenes were also intense. I’d recommend this movie for sure,” said sophomore, Christine Martucci.Chronicle is a movie filled to the brim with excitement, action, and scenes that are too incredible for words. Flying in the sky, lifting things up without touching them, the works. Three teenagers beat all odds with amazing super powers all because of their decision to explore the woods.
“The story line in this movie wasn’t hard to follow at all, and it was really interesting to see. This movie had a lot of suspense filled scenes, ” said eighth grader, Barbara Kasomenakis. “I was on the edge of my seat throughout the whole thing. I would tell someone to see it if they likes an excitement-filled movie.”
The movie starts off with a kid named Andrew Detmer, played by Dane DeHaan, who doesn’t fit in at school or home. Andrew buys a camera and decides to document his life and things going on around him. His cousin Matt Garetty, played by Alex Russel, convinces him to go to a party to put himself out there more.Later on at the party, class president candidate Steve Montgomery, played by Michael B. Jordan, leads Andrew to a gaping hole in the ground. They go into the hole to see what it’s all about, and a piercing noise surrounds them. Before they know it, they have telekinesis and other powers. They’re amazed, but Andrew gets power hungry because his powers seem to be the only aspect of his life that he can control.“I heard the movie was good, so I definitely want to go. It looks interesting and fun to see,” said eighth grader, Alyssa Kang.
