Santa came to Bayside Village this December, giving the kids a chance to witness a holiday miracle. With Council Member Paul A. Vallone starting off the parade, many small businesses participated as well as the abundance of children oriented clubs in the community.

“I think the holiday parade is a great event because it brings children together and celebrates christmas. It gives people and kids time to socialize and it was very special. Many people turned out and the performances were very good,” junior Erika Donis said.

Kids were handed out headbands and lights to walk around wearing during the parade, courtesy of Vallone himself. Santa and his elves rode around in a cadillac waving at the kids on the sidelines. Towards the end Martha’s Country Bakery and other restaurants of Bayside gave away some confections for the parade walkers and viewers as well as some hot chocolate to stand the cold.
