When choosing a health plan, individuals will have to keep that specific plan until the next enrollment period. No matter what plan you get, the basics will be covered with no out-of-the-pocket costs. All plans must offer basic care for the patients.
“Obamacare is not about improved health care or cheaper insurance or better treatment or insuring the uninsured, and it never has been about that. It’s about statism. It’s about expanding the government. It’s about control over the population. It is about everything but health care,” entertainer Rush Limbaugh said.
ObamaCare includes new benefits, rights, and protections that prohibits insurance companies from dropping coverage if a person gets sick or makes a mistake on their application. It can eliminate gender discrimination that can’t be charged for.
It includes provisions to expand the coverage and make it affordable for people. It is an “unofficial” name for The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. ObamaCare allows young adults to stay on their parents plan until the age of 26.
To be eligible for this coverage, children do not need to be financially dependent on the support of a person, people living in a household, enrolled as students or unmarried.
“I’m not sure if I should trust ObamaCare when I’m older; who knows if it will even exist in the near future when we are adults. My family and I are just fine with our own insurance coverage,” freshman Melanie Salazar said.
It is known that up to 82% of uninsured young adults will qualify for either Medicaid coverage of purchase coverage through the Health Insurance Marketplace in the future. After, ObamaCare more than three million young adults who didn’t have coverage or pay expensive coverage have stayed on their parent’s plan until age 26.
“Most people prefer private insurance, like my family. We feel extra secure with our insurance plan, and so far nothing negative has occurred toward our insurance,” Munivera Mema, mother of Edona Mema said.
Only about 3% of uninsured young adults who will buy private health insurance won’t qualify for cost assistance. Other uninsured young people will simply get their insurance through work due to the 2015 employer plan, or stay on their parents’ health plans.
6 in 10 young adults will qualify for for coverage that costs $100 or less a month. ObamaCare offers young people cheaper health insurance due to cost-assistance through their State’s health insurance marketplace.
