Mr. Lumetta gathered most of the juniors to a mandatory college meeting. He informed them on what they needed to do to apply to college.

Juniors were spoken to about Financial Aid, terms they needed to understand like early action and early decision, the common application and how to apply for CUNY and SUNY schools.

“I made this meeting to ensure that juniors are well prepared for the college application process,” guidance counselor Mr. Lumetta said.

Mr. Lumetta had a sign in sheet to be aware of the students who showed up. Students gathered in a small classroom to ask questions and be aware of the things they needed to know for college. This was a preparation of what students should expect for the beginning of next year and what is expected of them to complete in the summer.

“It was useful because I learned more about the common app that I didn’t know before,” junior Jenna Kahn said.

This was only the beginning. The upcoming seniors should be prepared to go to meetings at the beginning of senior year. Juniors are also expected to make meetings with Mr. Lumetta to evaluate their options.
