Around 20,000 fans roar with enthusiasm in a large space that makes people have as much energy as it’s surrounding of the sleepless city of New York. The upgrade of Madison Square Garden has created a modern arena that creates a dynamic experience to watch sports.
Brisbin Brook Beynon, a Canadian sports architectural firm, was selected to spice up the appearance of MSG and add onto their portfolio of other famous arenas, including: the Music Dome, the BMO Feild, GM Place, and much more.

According to msgtransformation.com, “When complete the arena will have wider concourses with views of the city, new first-class food and entertainment amenities, improved sightlines, more comfortable seating, a dynamic new scoreboard, sound and LED video systems in HD, new luxury suites, clubs and hospitality areas, and new one-of-a-kind bridges. Fans will discover a state-of-the-art venue that’s as unforgettable as the moments that happen here.”
“I can say for certain that it was one of the worst buildings in the league up until this year, and not because it also happened to be the oldest. It is poorly designed for hockey, round rather than oval-shaped. But now it feels a lot better, and it’ll probably be better still over the next two years. My problem is that Madison Square Garden pays no taxes to the city, and hasn’t since 1982 — not that that’s going to change anytime soon,” said Jeff Z. Klein, New York Times reporter.

Rangers triumph with continuous victories and holding the sturdy title of first place in the eastern conference.
With a new arena, new captain, and new team members it seems like the Ranger’s have more confidence and fans seem flabbergasted by their attentive game play.
“I am surprised, and so are most people — we figured the Rangers would be improved, but best in the league at this point? No way. Who can say whether they’ll keep it up, but they’re already almost halfway through the season, so you’ve got to figure they’ll be at or near the top at the end. One game to look forward to: Jan. 21 at Boston, when Rangers and Bruins — the two best teams in the NHL — meet for the first time this season,” explained Jeff Z. Klein, New York Times reporter.
With a new home stadium, new team members, a new captain, and a re-newed confidence the Rangers seem unstoppable.
1. Wojtek Wolski recently had surgery due to a groin injury and did not play approximately 26 games and several other players have been injured and out of the game; would you consider this to be a loss in assets for the Rangers?
Perhaps Wolski isn’t that important to the Rangers in the grand scheme of things, especially considering how well a couple of newcomers have played at forward: John Mitchell, and especially Carl Hagelin. Most of the Rangers’ injuries have occurred on defense — Staal, Sauer, Eminger — yet they keep doing great back there, and substitutes like Stu Bickel have emerged as reliable. In the end, all teams suffer injuries (the Rangers have actually been quite lucky in having few injuries over the last several years), and how a team responds is a measure of how good it really is. Look at how well the Penguins have done without Crosby, and also without Malkin, Letang and Staal over various periods the last couple years.

The new city views at Farley’s and Bar Madison, at the west and east sides of the Madison Concourse have opened up space for fans to congregate. And the west and east sides of the 8th floor concourse are a preview of what’s to come with next year’s new Garden Concousre, offering fans unobstructed views of the arena bowl.
