With the school year coming to an end, middle school students begin to take their second week of New York State tests. Testing for math is taking place April 22nd through April 24th.
“I was prepared and felt really confident. Day one I [always] get nervous. But I feel confident that I am going to pass and move to the seventh grade,” sixth grader Silvia Lee said.
For math, the first two days are multiple choice followed with a third test which is short answer. Students work hard all year to prepare for state testing. High School students are not allowed out of class between first and third period so their testing won’t be disturbed.
“The ELA seemed fair so I’m predicting the math will be fair too. Last year the tests were harder compared to this year,” teacher Mrs. Douvres said.
High school newspaper staff wishes all students good luck as they take their tests.
